Join us on May 6th for the 2nd Annual Ride the Rapids on the Deschutes River at the Wasco County Fairgrounds. The 2021 ride brought people together to experience the amazing beauty of rural Maupin in October. All three ride distances — 61 mi (Metric Century Ride), 39 mi, and 20 mi — wind you along the rapids, climbing to beautiful vistas, showing off mountain views, and an incredible waterfalls. Registration is $50 with $100 fundraising requirement (Adults), $20 registration with no fundraising requirement (kids). See below for more information on fundraising. Funds raised go to the Maupin Area Chamber Endowment (MACE), which supports the local community to fund development projects such as the Deschutes River Athletic Complex (DRAC). Following last year’s Ride The Rapids event, the foundation was laid and a track was built! The vision of a world-class athletic complex came to life in rural Maupin. This year’s fundraising efforts will go toward further developing DRAC and the mission remains the same: support youth sports and activities in rural communities.
