USA Rugby and Premier Rugby Sevens All-Star Tournament
USA Rugby and Premier Rugby Sevens (PR7s) will have the USA Women’s and Men’s National Teams compete in the 2024 PR7s All-Star Tournament at Providence Park on Sunday, Nov. 17, at 2pm PT. The competition will feature many Olympians from the Paris 2024 Games, including multiple bronze medalists from the USA Women’s team.
Les Schwab Invitational
The Les Schwab Invitational presented by Express Employment Professionals is a 5 Day, 32 game, high school basketball Tournament. It is THE Tournament in the Northwest and the only one that is nationally recognized. 16 Teams, 32 Games, 1 Champion.
The Tournament features 16 teams chosen from Oregon’s top high schools, and Nike Elite national schools who are selected to compete on a big stage, early in the season.
Women's Flat Track Derby Global Championships
The Rose City Rollers are proud to host the 2024 WFTDA Global Championships, back for the first time since 2019! Thirteen of the best roller derby teams from around the globe will compete for three action-packed days from Nov. 1-3. You do not want to miss the biggest marquee roller derby event of the year!
Night of Champions
Emceed by KGW’s Orlando Sanchez and Oregon legend Neil Everett, the Hall of Fame induction and Oregon Sports Awards celebration will take place at the Night of Champions on Tuesday, October 29. Marking Sport Oregon’s inaugural year hosting the event, the evening will not only honor these exemplary individuals, but also the positive and widespread impact of sport in Oregon.
This year’s Oregon Sports Hall of Fame class features distinguished athletes, including soccer superstar and Olympian Megan Rapinoe, three-time College World Series champion coach Pat Casey, Portland Timbers icon Diego Valeri, handball Olympian Rick Abrahamson and the 1984 and 1985 Portland State Volleyball teams will be honored, recognizing their significant contributions to Oregon’s rich sports legacy.
2024 Men's Oregon Team Cup
RECS is once again the host for the Men's Oregon Cup, and it is surely going to be the best one yet! 36 of the best men's pickleball players in the state of Oregon will be battling it out under one roof in a 6 team MLP format style tournament. Newport Harbor Triathlon
Race the coast! Newport Parks and Recreation is proud to announce the inaugural 2024 Newport Harbor Triathlon on September 29. Participants will run and bike through historic areas of the city that offer scenic views of the Bayfront, Yaquina Bay Road, and Yaquina Bridge. The swimming segment will be held in the Aquatic Center. Adult and youth divisions will be offered, welcoming both new and experienced triathletes to participate. All proceeds will help support youth athletics and programs.

MLK Dream Run
The MLK Dream Run is an annual fundraiser for the Soul District Business Association. Start your weekend with your community in North Portland. Enjoy live entertainment, food, drinks, and our Soul-Fun vendor market on Saturday. Come back Sunday to line up for our USATF-certified race. Enjoy a run/walk with your friends through the Soul District or race for a chance to win a round-trip travel voucher courtesy of Alaska Airlines. The race will start and finish at Portland Community College with a Dave's Killer Bread grilled cheese for all our racers after crossing the finish line.
Sport Oregon Big Swing Golf Tournament
Sport Oregon is providing a new opportunity for its investors and members to network, play some golf on a terrific local course, and raise funds for the 501c6 Sport Oregon corp. On Monday, Aug. 26, we will host our second Sport Oregon Big Swing Golf Tournament at Willamette Valley Country Club in Canby, Ore. The tournament, which will be a shamble format, aims to provide an elevated golf experience, creating a great opportunity to connect and build relationships with fellow participants, stakeholders and clients, while supporting Sport Oregon’s mission to drive economic impact and enhance the quality of life for all Oregonians through sport. NTT INDYCAR Series Bitnile.com Grand Prix of Portland
Portland International Raceway (PIR) is the home of the Grand Prix of Portland. PIR is a 1.964-mile, 12-turn permanent road course owned by the City of Portland and operated under the Portland Parks and Recreation. Opened in 1960 to host sports car and drag racing, the 268-acre property hosts over 550 events annually including automotive and motorcycle road racing, motocross, cruise-ins and other special events including the Rose Cup Races. PIR has been the site of many memorable INDYCAR races. Al Unser Jr. won the inaugural one in 1984, and the NTT INDYCAR SERIES returned in 2018 after an 11-year absence with 2017 and 2020 Indianapolis 500 winner Takuma Sato taking the checkered flag. The Father’s Day race of 1986 featured Mario Andretti victorious over his son Michael on the last lap by less than a second. The closest three-way road racing finish in INDYCAR SERIES history took place at PIR in 1997 when the top three were covered by just 0.055 of a second. The Grand Prix of Portland is owned and operated by Green Savoree Portland, LLC, which also promotes the NASCAR Xfinity Series’ Pacific Office Automation 147 event at PIR.
Rockstar Energy Open
The inaugural Rockstar Energy Open will be held at Waterfront Park in downtown Portland from Aug. 23-25. Rockstar Energy Drink has teamed up with premier action sports veterans and creators of Platfrm – an all-new content destination – to launch the new event.
The Rockstar Energy Open aims to celebrate Portland’s skateboarding community while uniting skateboarding pros and up-and-coming street and park skateboarders on imaginative courses built to showcase the skills of the world’s best skaters. In addition to street and park competitions, the event will feature live music, art installations and more attractions to celebrate the unique culture of the sport and the city.
The inaugural event is free and open to the public, with VIP upgrade options available for an elevated experience. The timing of the Rockstar Energy Open is ideal, too, as it comes on the heels of the Paris 2024 Olympics. Interest in skateboarding is sure to be riding high after seeing the best in the world compete in a number of events during the summer Olympics.

The Portland Classic
The Portland Classic is the LPGA tour’s longest-running non-major tournament and it’s returning to Columbia Edgewater August 1–4. Now in its 53rd year, this tournament features the best golfers from around the world as they enter the final stretch of the Race to the CME Globe. The 72-hole tournament features a purse of $1.75 million and is broadcast on the golf channel for all four rounds. Since its inception, the Portland Classic has raised over $18 million for a variety of local organizations. You need not be a golfer to enjoy this world-class event! Bowerman 5k
The 13th edition of the annual Bowerman 5k will be held on Sunday July 28 at Nike WHQ. In addition to the main event, BTC will be bringing back the elementary school 1,000m race before the running of the annual 5k. Started in 2010, the Bowerman 5k is an annual road race held in the month of July at the Nike Campus in Beaverton, Oregon. The 5k is a great opportunity to get the whole family involved in a fun and active event. Competitors include young kids, stroller walkers, competitive masters and elite runners, and athletes of all ages and abilities are encouraged to come and join the fun. Over the years, the race’s popularity has grown and in 2015 it was rated as one of the 7 Must-Do 5k Races in the United States by Competitor Magazine.

U.S. Track & Field Olympic Trials

The U.S. Olympic track and field trials will be held June 21-30 at Hayward Field at the University of Oregon. The event will mark the eighth time the Olympic Trials will be staged at the facility in Eugene. The meet will serve as the qualifying event to determine the participants representing the United States at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
Eight Seconds Juneteenth Rodeo
A lot can happen in eight seconds. A champion can be crowned. A bull can take his revenge. And an entire community can have their assumptions knocked into the dirt. This Juneteenth, come celebrate the history of Black rodeo at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Portland, Oregon. Featuring some of today’s bravest riders, nastiest bulls, tastiest food, and live beats from DJ OG One, the Eight Seconds Juneteenth Rodeo will be an experience like no other. We’ll pay tribute to the legends of Black rodeo in the Pacific Northwest, give the stars of today their shot at the title, and award five riding scholarships to inspire the next generation of cowboys and cowgirls.
Portland Track Festival
The 16th Annual Portland Track Festival brings the Olympians to Portland! What started as a middle school meet in 2008 has become one of the country’s premier track meets. Each event features community, youth, masters, and open races as well as a 1.5 hour window of races featuring some of the top athletes and teams in the world that are broadcast across the globe. Olympic champions, world record holders, national record holders and countless Olympians have raced at these events throughout the years and a win in Portland is as coveted as any place on the continent.
NCAA Track & Field Championships
Over 250 NCAA member institutions sponsor Division I track and field teams, and each year, these teams hope to compete in the championship meet. With over 20 events for both men and women, the championship meet will cap off an exciting outdoor season. The 2024 NCAA outdoor track and field championships are from Wednesday, June 5 through Saturday, June 8. Both the men's and women's championships are held simultaneously. The 2024 NCAA outdoor track and field championships will be held at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. It will be the 15th time the outdoor championships have been held in Oregon and the first time since 2022.
Collegiate Track and Field/Cross Country Athlete Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony
The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) invites all to attend the 2024 Collegiate Track & Field/Cross Country Athlete Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Sunday, June 2 at 4:30 p.m. at the Hult Center for the Performing Arts in Eugene. This year's induction class includes USTFCCCA Hall of Fame coach and former Oregon runner and legendary coach Bill Dellinger. The induction ceremony will be open to the public and will be held three days prior to the start of the 2024 NCAA DI Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Hayward Field at the University of Oregon. Attend this special event and help honor Dellinger and the rest of the amazing 2024 inductee class.
Newport Marathon
Circle June 1 on your calendar for the Newport Marathon/Half Marathon scheduled the first Saturday after Memorial Day. This event unfolds in the scenic heart of the central Oregon coast, offering participants a race amidst breathtaking natural beauty, from blue waters and crashing surf to extensive beaches. It promises a distinctive racing experience, aiming for an intimate scale with a big heart, perfect for both marathon and half marathon runners. The marathon is uniquely community-oriented, run entirely by volunteers, with all proceeds benefiting Newport High School's athletic programs and student activities. Participants will witness the spirited involvement of high school sports teams, the band, and various clubs along the course, all contributing to a cause that directly supports their endeavors.
NASCAR Xfinity Series Pacific Office Automation 147

Opened in 1960 to host sports car and drag racing, the 268-acre property hosts over 550 events annually including automotive and motorcycle road racing, motocross, cruise-ins and other special events including the Rose Cup Races. The inaugural Pacific Office Automation 147 in 2022 featured the NASCAR Xfinity Series and was won by A.J. Allmendinger. The race marked the first visit to the Pacific Northwest by a NASCAR national racing series since 2000. The Pacific Office Automation 147 is owned and operated by Green Savoree Portland, LLC, which also promotes the NTT INDYCAR Series’ Grand Prix of Portland.
The Prefontaine Classic
The Prefontaine Classic is one of the premier track and field meets in the country, drawing a world-caliber field to compete at Hayward Field. Previously one of the IAAF Grand Prix events, it is now part of the Diamond League. The meet is one of the few international competitions to host the imperial distances of the Mile run and 2 Mile run.

NWAC Softball Championship

Rose City 5K
Join us for the Portland Metro Chamber's annual Rose City 5K, presented by Nike. This race through downtown Portland's Tom McCall Waterfront Park will end with drinks, music, and awards to celebrate crossing the finish line. All participants receive a Nike Dri-FIT t-shirt, a Rose City 5k tote bag with goodies, a race bib and chip timer, and more! Eugene Marathon
The Eugene Marathon is the Pacific Northwest’s largest marathon and takes place each spring on the last Sunday of April. The marathon and half marathon courses traverse through the communities of Eugene and Springfield, alongside the Willamette River, and on the same roads that the world’s best runners have competed on for over 50 years — most recently at the World Athletics Championships Oregon22 in July of 2022. Start outside the newly renovated Hayward Field, finish on the iconic track, experience the magic of Hayward Field and Run in the Footsteps of Legends.
Bridge to Brews
Running for over 20 years in Portland, the iconic Bridge to Brews (presented by Breakside Brewery and 10 Barrel Brewing Company) is back! Taking place on Sunday, April 21 at Waterfront Park for the annual 10k and 8k run over Portland’s picturesque bridges.
