Director of Partnerships
We are seeking a full-time Director of Partnerships to join the Sport Oregon team. This individual will lead revenue generation for Sport Oregon’s 501c6 non-profit member-funded organization, focusing primarily on new member commitments and event sponsorships.
Responsible for actively seeking new corporate members, event sponsors, and event hospitality partners, they will lead communication with and engage existing members to bring value to the membership experience, fulfill member benefits, and create member events and networking opportunities. Working with the leadership, brand, and events teams, this individual will lead the creative direction and development of all membership and sponsorship materials.
The Director of Partnerships is also a community steward in constantly enhancing the perception of Sport Oregon and the fulfillment of its core mission to current and future stakeholders.
Job Duties:
Manage all aspects of Sport Oregon membership and sponsorship sales to include the following:
· Work with the CEO and leadership team to further our membership and sponsorship sales strategy to maximize and align with revenue budgets.
· Manage membership and sponsorship inventory, including the tracking/updating of all inventory, adding new inventory when applicable, communicating updates to the leadership and event teams weekly/monthly.
· Be accountable for achieving revenue goals for membership and sponsorship, and achieving budget compliance.
· Maintain and grow relationships with existing corporate partners and leverage these relationships to maximize revenue opportunities.
· Work with the CEO and leadership team to identify key local, regional and national membership and sponsorship targets.
· Responsible for all corporate and individual membership prospecting, solicitation, presentation, fulfillment, recaps, tracking and renewals.
· Responsible for all corporate sponsorship prospecting, solicitations, presentations, fulfillment, recaps, tracking and renewals.
· Host high level corporate executives and lead strategy for presentations and meetings.
· Actively entertain existing and prospective members/investors/sponsors.
· Work closely with events and brand teams to strategize, coordinate and execute events that drive revenue for Sport Oregon.
· Work-side-by-side with Sport Oregon Foundation leadership to align goals and ensure synergy with the 501c3 Foundation.

· Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the sports and event sales and marketing industry.
· Demonstrated strong sales, partnership, organizational and decision-making skills.
· Comfortable working in a sales environment and exhibiting negotiating tactics and skills, and the ability to cater conversations to different groups of people.
· Demonstrated experience formulating sponsorship marketing/activation plans and promotions from development to execution
· Natural ability to develop a strong rapport and establish long-term relationships with both clients and co-workers
· Excellent writing and verbal communication skills; must be able to successfully deliver presentations in front of large groups of people
· Demonstrates an ability to work independently and to be self-motivated
· Manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously to completion
· Strong organizational and time management skills
· Exceptional problem solving and multi-tasking skills
· Attention to detail and ability to thrive in a deadline driven environment
· Maintain strict financial responsibility
· Ability to be flexible with work schedules, including hours, weekends, nights and holidays
Experience:
· Minimum of 5 years of successful sponsorship sales and fulfillment experience with a member-funded nonprofit or similar organization is preferable; and/or experience with professional sports teams; collegiate athletic departments; high-profile entertainment entities; or sports commission- while working in a competitive sales environment.
What We Offer:
Compensation:, $70,000 - $80,000 base + commission based on membership and sponsorship sales

This is a full-time position based at the Sport Oregon office in Portland, Oregon, with some hybrid schedule flexibility.
