Women’s International Champions Cup

The Women’s International Champions Cup (WICC) returns to Portland this summer and will again feature four trophy-winning teams all vying to be crowned the women’s club world champion.

The four participants have each qualified for the 2022 WICC by winning championships in their 2021-22 tournaments, competitions, and leagues:

  • The 2021 WICC defending champions, Portland Thorns, qualified as winners of the 2021 NWSL Shield and 2021 NWSL Challenge Cup.

  • Olympique Lyonnais, 2019 WICC champions, qualified as winners of the 2022 UEFA Women’s Champions League and 2021-22 D1 Féminine

  • C.F. Monterrey will be the first team from Mexico to compete in the WICC, having qualified as the Torneo Grita México Apertura 2021 champions.

  • Chelsea FC Women’s will also make their first WICC appearance, qualified as winners of both the 2021-22 FA Women’s Super League and 2022 Women’s FA Cup.

The tournament will take place at Providence Park and consists of four matches played as two doubleheaders (1 ticket = 2 games).
