Oregon Sports Awards Project Coordinator
We are seeking a Project Coordinator to work with the events team at Sport Oregon to execute the 69th Oregon Sports Awards. This individual will collaborate with the Project Manager and serve as the main point of contact throughout the project, assist with planning and coordination of identifying finalists and winners for each award, and must show high professionalism to all partners, athletes, coaches, and other contacts. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in the events and/or sports industry. You must be organized, excel in verbal and written communication, and be comfortable working with limited supervision.
Job Duties:
Create at-large nomination ballot to send out to athletic directors (ADs)/coaches/etc.
Identify athlete watch list prior to each season
Conduct research to recognize potential finalists
Communicate periodically to ADs and coaches
Draft bios for each athlete
Create finalist ballot for voting
Send out finalist ballot to media list
Collect and tally responses from finalist ballot to identify award winners
Gather info from winners (headshots, confirm bio, addresses, social handles, etc.)
Assist Project Manager with scheduling interviews with award winner and broadcasting network
Regularly monitor OSA email
Provide customer service to athletes, parents, coaches, and ADs to answer all questions
Assist marketing team for project as needed
Job Qualifications:
Progress towards a Bachelor’s Degree or 2+ years of relevant education/experience
Experience using Microsoft Office applications
Must be able to uphold the integrity of the awards and private athlete information
Excellent communication skills
High-level attention to detail
Exceptional organizational skills
Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Team player – we are a small and agile team
Ability to work non-traditional hours
Ability to work remotely and at the Sport Oregon office
Compensation: Hourly (15-20h/week (possibility of up to 40 hours in a given week); $15/h)
