Events and Marketing Coordinator

Our Sport Oregon Foundation serves to break down barriers to entry in sports and encourage participation in youth sports through owned programs and grant funding.
Job Overview:
We are seeking a part-time Events and Marketing Coordinator to join the Brand team at Sport Oregon. This individual will contribute to existing marketing and events, while assisting with the development of new initiatives aligned with our mission and vision. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with a wide range of marketing functions, including communications, branding, digital marketing, and social media. Experience with event management including logistics, programming, and execution is preferred. The Coordinator must be an organized multitasker able to handle many diverse projects at once and meet tight deadlines. Attention to detail is critical for this role.
Events Job Duties:
Support Marketing and Events Manager as needed with planning and execution of Sport Oregon events
Help staff all events — may include evening and weekend events
Support operations and execution team at all events
Schedule and organize opportunities to represent Sport Oregon at various sporting events including tabling and volunteering
Lead development of student ambassador teams at college campuses
Serve as the lead member of these teams coordinating marketing and engagement opportunities
Administrative support including pick-ups and drop-offs at print vendors, etc.
Manual labor, digital storage, and data entry support for organization
Help fulfill sponsorship activations at events
GOAL: increase engagement to generate awareness for Sport Oregon
Marketing Job Duties:
Collaborate with Digital Marketing Manager to manage the Sport Oregon marketing schedule
Support events from strategy to execution
Elevate owned and supported events through elite marketing
Work with Digital Marketing Manager on messaging and communication priorities
Ensure all marketing efforts serve to achieve immediate and long-term business goals, identifying and executing improvements for processes, content, and lead generation
Support the production of visual and written content for all social media platforms
Manage the social media voice of Sport Oregon including live coverage of events and regular posting to social channels
Knowledge of industry trends and best practices to communicate effectively
Knowledge of social media platforms including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn
Preferred: basic graphic design experience using Adobe Creative Suite
GOAL: grow the digital audience and enhance the Sport Oregon brand
GOAL: increase attendance and elevate Sport Oregon brand initiatives
Job Qualifications:
High-level attention to detail
Exceptional organizational skills
Progress towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising or Communications or equivalent education/experience
Excellent writing, communication and presentation skills
Basic graphic design knowledge & familiarity with Photoshop & InDesign
Knowledge of traditional and digital marketing
Outside the box thinker, ability to solve problems
Team player – we are a small and agile team
Passion and interest in pursuing a career in sports or entertainment
Ability to work non-traditional hours and weekends
A valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation

This is a part-time, hourly position based at the Sport Oregon office in Portland, Oregon, with some hybrid schedule flexibility.
